NASCAR is looking for a dynamic marketing professional who will be responsible for developing and executing large and small scale, consumer-focused events for the purpose of engaging new and existing fans with the NASCAR brand.

The ideal candidate will manage budgets, agencies and staff. Work closely with all NASCAR departments to leverage and integrate industry assets in ways that meet both NASCAR and sponsor interests. Measure and report results. Manage all aspects of event marketing, including strategic planning, marketing/media planning, creative development, hospitality, talent support and procurement, on-site optics and operations, and formal recap to the industry. Strategically tie event marketing initiatives to key NASCAR goals, targets and Seasons.
Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and implement an annual event marketing plan that leverages NASCAR and industry resources and supports key NASCAR strategies.
  • Secure and direct staff and agency efforts.
  • Develop and manage event marketing budget.
  • Measure and report results.

Approximate travel required is 10-20%, including weekends.

A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent is preferred with at least seven years related experience in event marketing; must be well organized, detail oriented and have the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently; the ideal candidate is a results driven, strategic thinker with excellent written and verbal communication skills; Motorsports and/or agency experience is a plus.

Job Opening: Series Director, NASCAR K&N Pro Series – NASCAR (Concord, NC)

Series Director, NASCAR K&N Pro Series – NASCAR (Concord, NC)

NASCAR is looking for a talented leader to join our NASCAR K&N Pro Series in the position of Series Director based in Concord, NC R&D Center.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Phone work – answers questions about rules and procedures, sets up track schedules, works with tracks, talks with racers and chassis builders.
  • Calls the race from the tower during the event.
  • Manages all technical aspects during inspection
  • Paperwork — keeps up with rules, updates, sets times for event schedules, payroll, race recap, with track after each event.
  • Computer work – keeps records of all forms and schedules, sign in list for individual events, sets up the presell of tickets for next event, keeps a monthly file for expense reports.
  • Visits the race and chassis builder shops when asked.
  • Schedules duties for officials at tracks.
  • Manages all aspects of the operation of the Series.
  • Calls track and arranges time schedule for event. Setups presell of tickets for each event.
  • Prepares all forms, documents, entry blanks and such for events.
  • Meets with promoters.
  • Sets up garage area, checks facility for safety and makes sure everything is functional.
  • Follows through with schedule of inspections during pre race and qualifying. Makes sure inspectors are doing required schedule of work.
  • Qualifying rounds followed by main event and technical inspections after conclusion of both.
  • Meets with promoters to pick up checks if needed. Recaps event and talk about weekend.
  • Does payroll, all verification sheets, race recap report and complete file for event.
  • Approximate travel 50%, including weekends.

Qualifications include the following:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and ten plus years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Race team or track promotion experience preferred.
