Interactive Designer – International Speedway Corporation (Daytona Beach, FL)

The Interactive Designer (ID) codes, tests, and analyzes programs, customizations and applications including research, design, documentation, and modification of software specifications throughout the development and production life cycle. The ID is also responsible for analyzing and correcting programming errors.

 

Responsibilities

The ID performs a variety of tasks requiring technical knowledge in many areas of applications programming and configuration. The ID prepares specifications and programs of a technical nature.

  1. Design, develop, document, test, and debug programs, customizations and small applications utilizing ISC approved technologies
  2. Write detailed design documentation, unit test plans and implementation plans
  3. Understand the functionality of the application well enough to prepare and execute system, integration, and load/stress test strategies, test plans and prepare any needed test data
  4. Perform research and analysis of problems, get the root cause, develop and implement solutions
  5. Provide support for “live” production applications including 24×7 support
  6. May work with users to define system requirements and resolve problems
  7. Evaluate user requests to determine feasibility, cost and time required, and impact

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • This position requires 3 or more years designing, developing and testing front-end web technologies for high traffic systems; also at least 1-2 years with the specific technologies in use at ISC:
  1. Experience with 3rd party API’s and SDK’s
  2. Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, oAuth
  3. jQuery, Ajax, REST
  4. HTML5, CSS3, XHTML, XML
  5. Flash/Flex, ActionScript
  6. Microsoft ASP.NET C# 2005 – 2010
  • Experience supporting and developing for Enterprise Content Management (ECM) systems
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work cooperatively in a team setting

Optional Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience developing for iOS and Google Android phone and tablet devices
  • PhotoShop, Dreamweaver
  • PHP, WordPress, Ruby

Education and/or Experience

College degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or equivalent field of study
