Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks
The Partnership Sales & Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day management of all corporate partnership sales and marketing department functions, including contractual benefit fulfillment for partner clients, developing sales pitches, assisting with prospecting (networking and cold-calling), presenting, and closing local partnership agreements.
Assist Manager of Corporate Partnerships with overall account management:
- Direct day-to-day responsibility for a TBD number of accounts.
- Ensure all contractual obligations and partner needs are met.
- Build relationships with partners’ key personnel.
- Understand partner business objectives and utilize this knowledge to fulfill partnership elements and grow additional revenue opportunities.
- Creation of partnership proposals.
- Assist with asset management and tracking.
- Assist with race day activation and preparation.
- Creation of partnership recaps and proof-of-performance.
- Oversee third-party vendor relationships and ensure performance standards are met (examples include: on-site signage vendors, operational trade relationships, etc)
New business initiatives:
- Prospecting: Identify and research new business and marketing partners. Contact decision makers within each organization.
- Presenting: Create compelling presentations and assist with new business/renewal pitches to prospective partners during meetings, potentially in a boardroom setting, and/or during telephone calls.
- Comply with company wide CRM tool for revenue reporting purposes
- Gather research and assist with the development of target lists for the department.
- Active participation in regional networking events.
- Develop and grow new revenue generating partnership programs.
- Perform assigned event day responsibilities during all major event weekends.
- Various additional duties and projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 1-2 years experience preferred in the sports/entertainment industry and/or working for an agency
- Ability to form strong relationships with business partners
- Knowledge and/or background in the sports/entertainment industry is preferred.
- Computer proficiency (MS Word, Excel, Internet, CRM Tools, PowerPoint).
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with friendly and professional demeanor.
- Must be very detail oriented with strong time management skills.
- Must demonstrate flexible and creative problem solving skills.
- Ability to handle a large volume of cold calls and prospecting.
- Career-minded individual with a strong desire to grow professionally and become ingrained in the Chicago area sports business landscape.
- Must be able to work well in a team environment interacting with multiple departments.
- Must possess a positive attitude, professionalism, integrity, motivation, and a very strong work ethic.
- Must be able to work flexible hours including events on nights and weekends.
- Must be able and willing to travel as needed for meetings.
